Woburn Moves Into Level 1 Mild Drought

State Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Rebecca Tepper declared on Sept. 10 that the Northeast Region, including Woburn, has improved to a Level 1 – Mild Drought, and the city posted the update on Sept. 14. Residents and businesses are urged to minimize overall water use, limit outdoor watering to one day per week between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. or less if required by their supplier, fix indoor leaks and plant drought-resistant species. Rainfall from June through August was near or above normal across much of the state, but longer-term deficits remain in many areas.
