Select Board Reviews Draft Warrant Articles for Forest Ridge Land Purchase
The Select Board on Sept. 18 reviewed two placeholder articles in the draft Fall Town Meeting warrant covering 13.66 acres at Forest Circle, near the Middlesex Fells. Draft Article 20 would let the board take the land by eminent domain at the Conservation Commission's request for conservation, open space and passive recreation; Draft Article 21 would acquire the same acreage, plus a Fallon Road parcel in Stoneham, by gift, purchase or eminent domain under the Community Preservation Act. Bell Point LLC, a developer active in eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire, already has the land under agreement with its owner, the Shannon Investment Trust.
