Planning Board allows 972 Main Street project to proceed by right
The Planning Board voted Sept. 8 to approve Treetop Group's withdrawal of its revised plans for 972 Main St., taking the redevelopment out of the board's hands and allowing it to move forward by right under town zoning bylaws. That means the project skips the special permit review process, though Treetop must still meet building codes, pass inspections and obtain standard construction permits. Board member Brian Vernaglia said the changes from the original special permit — including parking, basement use and open-space percentages — are not significant and authorized the town planner to handle them.
