5th Middlesex State Senate Candidate Forum Set for Today

The League of Women Voters of Winchester and the League of Women Voters of Melrose host a forum today at 2 p.m. with the three Democrats running for the open 5th Middlesex state Senate seat: Kate Lipper-Garabedian, Carey McDonald and Ryan O'Malley. The seat is held by Sen. Jason Lewis, who is not seeking re-election; the district covers Malden, Melrose, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield and Winchester. The forum streams live on Stoneham TV and will be posted later on the station's website. Early voting for the primary begins Aug. 22, and primary day is Sept. 1.
