Weston pauses Flock license-plate camera deployment

The Weston Police Department has paused its plan to deploy Flock Safety automated license-plate readers, citing a need for community input on privacy and public-safety tradeoffs. Chief Denis Linehan said the department wants to find a balance before installing the cameras. The decision follows reports of misuse of similar technology in other Massachusetts cities.
