Bermuda Search Party Reflects on Roots Ahead of Move to LA
Indie four-piece Bermuda Search Party, formed by Berklee College of Music students and a veteran of stages across greater Boston including Wellesley College's fall festival concert, played its last show as a Boston-based band on Sept. 19 ahead of a move to Los Angeles at the end of the month. In an interview published Sunday, members Hoyt Parquet, Claire Davis, Leo Son and Maclin Tucker described music drawn from rock, pop, funk and dance that aims to be sonically positive and lyrically reflective. Davis said the band once joked that it makes "happy music for sad people," and that there is still some truth to that.
