Google Signs 35,000-Square-Foot Office Lease in Watertown

Google has signed a lease for 35,000 square feet at 200 Talcott Ave., part of Alexandria Real Estate Equities' Arsenal on the Charles complex on Arsenal Street. The 1.1 million-square-foot, 13-building campus was 54.7 percent occupied at midyear, according to Alexandria's quarterly report, and the developer has been courting tech and other traditional office tenants amid sluggish lab demand. Google, which has a large Kendall Square footprint, confirmed its plans to occupy the space but did not respond to questions about the new office's focus.
