Voter Registration Deadline Passes, Early Voting Underway
Early in-person voting for the Sept. 1 state primary continues today, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Lower Hearing Room at City Hall, with weekday hours running through Friday, Aug. 28. The deadline to register for the primary passed Saturday at 5 p.m., and the last day to request a ballot by mail is Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 5 p.m. Voters who miss early voting can cast ballots at their precinct on Election Day.

For the week of Aug. 23, Watertown DPW lists work on water meters, the high school project, park projects, road paving, Mount Auburn Street, utilities, and National Grid/Eversource sites, with possible closures, detours and minor delays.

Halva Opens Larger Watertown Square Restaurant
Halva Mediterranean Grill opened its larger Main Street location on Aug. 19, moving into the former Not Your Average Joe's space at 55 Main St. Owners plan to turn the old Mt. Auburn Street space into a breakfast restaurant.
