Ambulance committee backs new Armstrong contract

The Ambulance Committee voted to recommend that the mayor authorize a new three-year contract with Armstrong Ambulance, with an option to renew for two more years. Armstrong has served the city for the past five years, and it plans to move its base to Dale Street. The previous contract lapsed earlier this month after an Aug. 17 meeting lacked enough attendance for a vote, and Fire Department representatives said they have never had an issue with the company's standard of care.
