National Grid stages emergency crews ahead of severe weekend storm
National Grid said it has secured additional crews and positioned equipment and materials across Massachusetts ahead of an early fall coastal storm expected to bring damaging winds, heavy rain and possible flooding through the weekend. Forecasts call for peak gusts of 40 to 50 mph in Eastern Massachusetts and 3 to 5 inches of rain in some areas. The utility says it will respond to outages or damage as safely and quickly as conditions allow.
