Police Report TikTok-Linked Apartment Rental Scam

On Sept. 10 at 11 a.m., police responded to a residence on Underwood Park, where a resident said he found an apartment listing on TikTok and called the number on it. He was asked to put down a deposit to hold the apartment, then paid an additional fee that was supposed to cover documentation needed to visit the property. He became suspicious, could not reach the number again, and reported it to police, who are investigating.
