Council approves traffic-safety measures

At its September 28 meeting, the Town Council approved Traffic Advisory Committee recommendations, including "No Parking To Corner" signs on Water and Pleasant streets, four speed-feedback signs on Montrose Avenue, new streetlights on Parker Road and Hanson Street, and stop signs for rail-trail users. Councilors also discussed replacing the Broadway railroad crossing gates in 2027.

Wakefield Memorial's boys' varsity soccer team beat Winchester 2-0 on September 29. The girls' soccer team lost 2-0 to Winchester, and the girls' swim team fell 99-69 to Chelmsford.
