North Ave lane closed; Veterans Field lot closing today

The Veterans Field parking lot on North Avenue closes at 6 a.m. today as crews prepare for delivery of the new public restroom facility, with reopening anticipated by 5 p.m. Because large cranes will be on site, the walking path through Hall Park is closed for the day and daytime activities at Veterans Field have been cancelled, though the North Avenue sidewalk and the pickleball courts remain available. The closure follows Tuesday's 8 p.m. shutdown of the northbound lane of North Avenue for sewer tie-in work, which detoured northbound traffic around Lake Quannapowitt via Main Street.
