Somerville Teen Program Receives $100K City Grant

The city's Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $100,000 to Teen Time @ The Dojo, a partnership between the Center for Teen Empowerment and The Dojo at Somernova, to fund consistent weekly, year-round programming and a free after-school gathering space. The program serves Somerville youth ages 14 to 19, with outreach focused on immigrant youth, youth experiencing housing insecurity, and others facing barriers to enrichment. Offerings will span arts, STEAM and robotics, climate tech, civic engagement, workforce readiness and financial literacy, with Books of Hope joining to run programming including open mic nights.
