Somerville Advances Plan for New PK-8 School at 115 Sycamore Street
The city's Construction Advisory Group recommends building a 925-student PK-8 school on the former Winter Hill Community Innovation School site at 115 Sycamore Street, absorbing the Brown School. Somerville is finishing a feasibility study, which includes a Preliminary Design Program and a Preferred Schematic Report, ahead of a late-August submission to the Massachusetts School Building Authority, the project's funding partner. The School Committee votes to approve each document before submission, and the city posts project documents and dates online along with a monthly project newsletter.
