City contractors begin overnight sewer and storm drain cleaning Sunday night, working roughly 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday, Aug. 14, as part of the city's Annual Sewer and Storm Drain Inspection Program. Crews will briefly open manholes to clean and video-inspect lines on stretches of Washington Street, Webster Avenue, Somerville Avenue, Broadway, Elm Street and Holland Street; no roadway excavation is required, and work in any one location is expected to take no more than one or two nights.
