Heat Advisory Ends But Hot Weekend Risk Remains

The National Weather Service's Heat Advisory for Somerville covered Thursday and Friday, Aug. 6-7, with feels-like temperatures reaching 100 degrees. The advisory does not extend past Friday, but the city says feels-like temperatures are still expected above 90 through the weekend and into Monday. Officials urge residents to limit midday outdoor activity, drink plenty of water, never leave children or pets in vehicles, and cool off in air-conditioned city buildings, including public libraries during regular hours.
