MBTA Reminds Riders of Nine-Day Green Line Suspension Starting Aug. 8

The MBTA is reminding riders that Green Line service will be suspended for nine consecutive days, August 8 through 16, on segments of the B, C, D and E branches, including between Heath Street and North Station on the E branch. Crews will use the outage for critical signal upgrades in the central Green Line tunnel, replacing a system more than 100 years old, and for the C Branch Accessibility Improvements Project. The closure was first announced July 15, and the agency says the new signals should mean more reliable service and fewer unplanned disruptions.
