Somerville Police Union Backs Solet for Middlesex DA

The Somerville Police Employees Association has endorsed challenger David Solet over 13-year incumbent Marian Ryan ahead of the September 1 Middlesex District Attorney election. Solet, 49, a former cold case prosecutor who worked under Ryan, has earned backing from police unions across eight Middlesex towns and cities, including Cambridge and Somerville. Ryan's campaign said she joined other incumbent attorneys general in refusing police union endorsements.
