High School Junior Joins Swampscott Climate Action Committee

Swampscott High School junior Nikki Carr has joined the town's Climate Action and Resilience Committee, filling a student vacancy that had gone unfilled for some time. Carr learned of the opening from her AP Biology teacher, researched the committee and reached out on her own. Chair Martha Schmitt said the committee, formed in 2021 to cut emissions and mitigate climate impacts, will benefit from a younger member's perspective and community ties.
