Councilor questions lane tape after Tremont Street scooter crash

A driver hit and injured an electric scooter rider Wednesday morning at the Tremont Street intersection where a bicyclist was killed by a truck in July. At-large Councilor Erin Murphy is calling for a hearing into whether the motorist and scooter rider were confused by "lane" markings that bicycling advocates taped down last month, and why city workers had not removed the tape. The mayor's office told the Globe that preliminary findings point to the driver running a red light, not the tape.
