Orange Line Track Upgrades and Shuttle Diversions Conclude Today

The MBTA's five-day Orange Line maintenance surge between Back Bay and Forest Hills wraps up today as crews finish track replacement, station improvements and signal upgrades. Shuttle buses are stopping at Back Bay Station on Dartmouth Street and at Columbus Avenue and Mass Ave, and riders should budget extra travel time — the T suggests allowing at least 30 minutes beyond a normal commute for trips from Forest Hills to Downtown Crossing. Commuter Rail service between Forest Hills, Ruggles, Back Bay and South Station is fare-free as an alternative, with Forest Hills to Back Bay taking about 10 minutes.
