Nick Collins wins Democratic primary for State Senate
State Sen. Nick Collins defeated first-time candidate Latoya Gayle on Sept. 1 for the Democratic nomination in the First Suffolk district, which covers most of the South End. "It was not a landslide victory. And we made him work," she said; Collins arrived to cheers at Florian Hall soon after.
