South End's Barcelona Wine Bar handed two-day license suspension

The Boston Licensing Board ordered Barcelona, 525 Tremont St., to give up its liquor license for two days beginning Aug. 6 after two BPD licensing detectives found seven underage drinkers at tables during a May spot inspection. The board voted for a three-day suspension but held one day in abeyance for a year. Members noted the restaurant fired the server who brought drinks to a table of six people under 21, bought new license scanners and decided to card more patrons, but said the number of underage drinkers at one time warranted punishment.
