Boston issues heat advisory through Saturday, highs near 98°F

Mayor Wu has issued a heat advisory for Boston from Thursday, Aug. 6 through Saturday, Aug. 8, with temperatures of 95 to 98 degrees and little relief overnight. Emergency Management director Brooke Amendola urged residents to stay hydrated, limit time outdoors during the hottest hours and check on neighbors. The city notes Boston EMS typically sees a 10-15% increase in 911 calls during a heat wave, and is pointing residents to cooling resources, BCYF locations, state-owned pools and the AlertBoston notification system.
