Sewage-discharge advisory covers South Boston waterfront
Boston health officials issued a water-contact advisory after a combined sewer overflow at the MWRA’s Prison Point facility affected the Inner Harbor, including the South Boston waterfront. The discharge ran from 8:31 a.m. to 3:42 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27; officials advise avoiding contact with affected waters for at least 48 hours after an overflow.
