MassDOT Approves $78.7M Mystic River Pedestrian Bridge Contract

MassDOT approved the $78.7 million construction contract for the Mystic River Pedestrian Bridge on Sept. 28. The bridge will be the only car-free connection across the Mystic River, linking the soon-to-reopen Draw Seven Park in Somerville to the Everett waterfront at Encore Casino. The Mystic River Watershed Association, Bike to the Sea and the East Coast Greenway Alliance have long pushed for the project to better connect parks and paths along the river.
