Somerville Tenant Notification Mandate Takes Effect Oct. 14
Starting October 14, a new ordinance requires rental property owners to notify every tenant in writing within 48 hours of putting their residence on the market. Owners must deliver the City's Notice of Building Sale form, in person with a signed acknowledgment or by certified mail, and post it where tenants can see it. The notice must include the owner's intent to sell, contact information, a property description, the asking price, and contact information for the City's Office of Housing Stability.
