Davis Square Neighborhood Council Wins Committee Recognition

The City Council's five-member Legislative Matters Committee voted unanimously Tuesday to recommend formal recognition of the Davis Square Neighborhood Council, sending the proposal to the full council. The endorsement came only after city lawyers agreed the group could include residents of Cambridge, Arlington and Medford, and after councilors raised concerns about the size of the area the DSNC claims and its quorum rules. Council president Lance Davis, who represents Ward 6, offered tepid support: "I'm okay going forward."
