Scituate awarded $1.1M FEMA grant for Cedar Point seawall

FEMA said Friday that nearly $3 million in resilience grant funding is heading to Massachusetts, part of nearly $18 million awarded across the six New England states. Scituate will get more than $1.1 million for its Cedar Point seawall project, aimed at reducing flood damage risk and improving resilience against future coastal storms on the stretch of sand and asphalt separating Scituate Harbor from the Atlantic. The town is often among the hardest-hit during powerful storms, with waves inundating roads.
