Scituate issues West Nile virus advisory after positive tests

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health raised Scituate's West Nile virus risk level to moderate on September 14 after positive mosquito samples were found in town. The change reflects the mosquito samples, not a human case. The town asks residents to take precautions — repairing screens, dumping standing water twice weekly, wearing long sleeves and repellent from dusk to dawn, and using netting on carriages and playpens — and to contact the Board of Health with questions.
