Councillors plan changes to proposed tree ordinance

After residents raised concerns about oversight, permits, fees and replacement requirements at a Sept. 28 public hearing, Councillors Joanne McKenna and Jim Mercurio said they would revise the proposed citywide tree-preservation ordinance before bringing it back to the council. The proposal aims to protect Revere’s tree cover through a permit process for removing healthy trees, while allowing removal when there is a reasonable need.
