Override forums cover library, senior tax relief; Select Board update Oct. 6

At a Sept. 19 forum on the $6.5 million Proposition 2½ operational override, Town Manager Jayne Wellman said closing the Reading Public Library on Sundays would not by itself cost the library its state certification, but cutting library staff beyond that almost certainly would. The forums have also covered senior tax relief, staffing and school cost reductions ahead of the Nov. 3 election, where the override appears as Question 10. The next Select Board update is Oct. 6, with more forums later in October.
