The Residence at Pearl Street Celebrates Four Centenarians
Ahead of National Centenarian Day on Sept. 22, The Residence at Pearl Street recognized four residents who have passed the 100-year mark: Ron, 100; Stan, 101; Louise, 101; and Edna, 103 — together more than 400 years of life. Stan Clark, a Navy veteran recognized by the Commonwealth's Veterans Affairs office, marked his 101st birthday this month. Ron Winslow, an Army veteran and lifelong Reading resident, celebrated his 100th in January; he served 25 years as assistant superintendent of Reading Public Schools, owned Winslow's variety store on Haven Street, and sat on the Board of Selectmen, the Finance Committee and Town Meeting.
