Fair Raises group responds to final judgment in petition lawsuit

Judge Connolly issued a final judgment on Sept. 25 in the ballot petition lawsuit brought over how the city handled petition signatures. According to Quincy Citizens for Fair Raises, the judgment reaffirmed the court's finding that the city violated state law in handling those signatures. The group has responded publicly to the ruling.

Quincy man indicted on firearm and drug charges

Federal prosecutors announced Sept. 29 that Joseph King of Quincy was indicted on charges of possessing firearms as a felon and distributing controlled substances. The charges are allegations; he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
