Quincy Issues Drinking Water Notice Over Elevated Lead Levels
The City of Quincy has issued a drinking water notice after 3 samples in its annual June-to-September testing of homes with known lead service lines exceeded the lead action level. About 244 of the city's roughly 23,000 service lines, or 1.1 percent, are suspected to contain lead, and the city says it has replaced 245 services at no cost to customers since 2024. Residents can check the city's online inventory map to see whether their address has a lead service, or call the DPW at (617) 376-1959 with questions.
