Memorial Honors Ann M. Spadorcia, First Female Barber in Quincy
Ann M. (Connell) Spadorcia, 79, died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2026, and was remembered this week as the first female barber in Quincy before her retirement in 1972. Born in Quincy on May 20, 1947, to the late William A. and Doris E. Connell, she grew up in the city and spent her summers at Long Beach in Plymouth, memories she later recounted in a video recorded for the Plymouth 400 celebration. She is survived by her husband, Alfred A. Spadorcia, three children, a son-in-law, two granddaughters and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
