CRLS educator Larry Aaronson dies at 86

Larry Aaronson, 86, a retired Cambridge Rindge and Latin School teacher, died peacefully in his sleep at 7:11 a.m. Saturday, according to friends posting through his own social media account. Over more than four decades he taught history and social sciences with a specialty in alternative progressive education and social justice, and was also known for promoting the dramatic arts. The Aaronson Fund, formed after his retirement to continue that work, noted in 2008 that hundreds of CRLS graduates had gone on to public-sector jobs on social justice issues.
