Marcia J. Keen, Carnegie Hero Medal recipient, remembered

Marcia J. Keen, formerly of Plymouth, died Sept. 14 at 82 after a battle with cancer. At age 14 she received a Carnegie Hero Medal for saving a six-year-old boy from drowning at Manomet Beach, and she later spent more than 20 years as a nurse at Plymouth County Hospital and Cranberry Specialty Hospital. Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Oct. 17 at Cartmell-Davis Funeral Home in Manomet, followed by a joint memorial service with her husband of 45 years, Richard Keen, who died July 23.
