Peabody Man Charged With Drug Trafficking, Animal Cruelty

Peabody police executed a search warrant at a Goodale Street home on Wednesday after a six-month investigation into possible drug activity in the area. Duarte Silva was charged with cocaine trafficking, child endangerment, animal cruelty and illegal possession of ammunition, and was expected to face the charges in Peabody District Court. Police said it was the second time in a little more than two years that a warrant at the home led to drug charges; Silva pleaded guilty to drug and animal cruelty charges filed in June 2024.
