Town Launches Tax Impact Calculator for Pollard Project

The town's new Property Tax Calculator, online since Sept. 1, lets residents enter a home address and see what the $325.4 million Pollard Middle School project would add to their tax bills over the life of the debt, which runs from 2028 to 2062. For an average single-family home assessed at $1,541,061, the town estimates the debt adds $40,854 over 35 years, an average of $1,167 a year, starting at about $77 in 2028 and reaching $1,218 in 2031. Deputy Town Manager Dave Davison discussed the calculator at the Sept. 9 Finance Committee meeting.
