St. Paul's Episcopal Church puts Gale House demolition on hold

St. Paul's Episcopal Church announced October 1 that it is putting demolition of Gale House, its historic parish house, on hold after the church and its contractor could not agree on a construction contract. The church had won the Historical Commission's approval over the summer to tear down the building to make way for major church renovations. Church leaders said they were relieved because the partnership was not a good fit, and they plan to find a general contractor to carry out the design already settled upon.
