Historical Society unveils exhibit on 1937 Indigenous mural
The Natick Historical Society is presenting a new digital exhibit on the 1937 Post Office mural, "John Eliot Speaks to the Natick Indians," which depicts the forced removal of the town's Indigenous residents during Metacom's (King Philip's) War. The exhibit was created with Natick Nipmuc tribal members Carolyn Hasgill and David Yancey and Wellesley College professor Erin Battat. A free public event is set for Oct. 17 from 2 to 3 p.m. at 58 Eliot Street, with registration on Eventbrite, and registrants will receive a link to the exhibit one week beforehand.
