West Nile Virus Detected in Natick Mosquitoes, Prompting Spraying

State health officials detected West Nile virus in local mosquito samples, prompting ground spraying in southwest Natick on Sept. 11. The Central Mass Mosquito Control Project uses Zenivex E4 for truck spraying in town; the pesticide was tested by the Department of Environmental Protection, which found no detectable levels of PFAS. Residents can reach the project at 508-393-3055 weekdays from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or the Board of Health at 508-647-6460; note that the pesticide exclusion process has changed.
