Natick Select Board Backs Hybrid Concept for Main Street Overhaul

After months of public forums and hours of board discussion, the Select Board voted unanimously on Sept. 9 to advance a "hybrid" concept featuring dedicated bicycle infrastructure along Main Street to a 25% design phase. The vote lets the town accept $500,000 in state grant money for preliminary engineering on the downtown corridor, and matches the recommendation of a working group that reviewed four options this summer. Construction is not anticipated until the 2030s, with consultants and town staff addressing outstanding questions during design.
