Melrose Completes Dunton Playground Renovation

The city has finished upgrading Dunton Playground at the corner of Franklin and Pratt streets, replacing outdated equipment with a new age-appropriate play structure less than a month after work began. The project was approved by the Melrose Park Commission and funded through the Proposition 2½ override voters approved last year. The FY2026 Capital Improvement Program set aside $536,000 for playground improvements at Dunton Park and Common Park.
