Common Park tree work completed ahead of playground renovation
The Public Works Forestry Division finished pruning and tree removal at Common Park on Aug. 27, clearing the way for a replacement play structure for children ages 5 to 12. Work on the play structure itself could begin as early as the week of Sept. 21 and take roughly three to six weeks. City officials say the project is funded through last year's Proposition 2 1/2 override referendum, which included $536,000 for playground improvements at Common Park and Dunton Park.
