Council backs intervention in Medford divestment lawsuit; ADC seeks dismissal
The City Council voted 6-1 on Sept. 15 to support intervention in the federal lawsuit challenging Medford's Values-Aligned Local Investments Ordinance. The next day, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee filed a supplemental brief, requested by the court, arguing the case should be dismissed and that a group of Medford residents it represents should be allowed to intervene. ADC says the city effectively stopped defending the ordinance by asking the court to permanently block its enforcement.
