Tufts Aquatics Center Construction Moves Forward After City Approval

The Medford Community Development Board unanimously approved Tufts University's Olympic-sized Aquatics Center after the project came before it three times, and the city has issued a building permit. Board feedback that the building's scale and material felt too "monolithic" led the architects at Sasaki to add angled window slots and more detail to the south facade. At the city's request, the project will also include a new pedestrian crosswalk and safety beacons on College Avenue.
