Friends of the Fells is running its second "PoopBlitz" this afternoon, following a first round in April, asking volunteers to fan out across Middlesex Fells trails from 2 to 4 p.m. to collect dog waste and record data on it. Participants sign up for a starting point in the Fells, then log locations and photos of waste, both bagged and unbagged. Organizers say the data will show how much waste is in the park at one time and where it concentrates, helping guide steps such as their pilot pet waste station project.
